Town Hall Internal Refurbishment, Great Yarmouth

Extensive refurbishment and internal remodelling to the Grade II listed building to increase staff capacity and improve offices and public spaces.

Allman Woodcock prepared full Bills of Quantities in conjunction with the preparation of tender documentation, to appoint a suitable Contractor.

Works were successfully completed in 2012. The Client’s design team worked closely together throughout the project. Allman Woodcock provided post Quantity Surveying services which included regular detailed cost reporting to the Client.

The works included widespread asbestos removal, structural repairs, rewiring, heating, specialist joinery, conservation works, new toilet facilities, flooring, decorating, new technology for electronic voting/microphones/cameras and specialist refurbishment of the council chamber, Magistrates Court and Assembly Room areas.

The existing toilet facilities on the ground floor were demolished to transform the centre of the building and create a new atrium area including a fully glazed passenger lift.
