St George's Chapel & Pavilion, Great Yarmouth

St George’s Chapel is a Grade I listed building situated in Great Yarmouth. Allman Woodcock provided professional Quantity Surveying services, including; cost consultancy, procurement advice and OJEU consultancy and final account negotiations.

The project is designed by Hopkins Architects. The chapel was restored, being refurbished and converted to provide a theatre, whilst a new Pavilion building provides a café and regeneration of St George’s Plain surrounding the buildings giving external social space.

The refurbishment included delicate specialist repair to the existing brick and stone masonry, new roofing, the renovation of ornate structural and decorative features. Internally, the chapel was modified and improved with high quality joinery and a technical theatre fit-out.

A new pavilion and its open feel compliment the adjacent chapel through the stone/brick material and the glazing systems.
